Join me for a refreshing full-day plein air watercolor workshop along the scenic 216 St Dike Trail in Maple Ridge, where open skies, winding riverbanks, and distant mountain views create the perfect backdrop for artistic inspiration. Surrounded by peaceful nature and gentle wildlife sounds, this location offers endless possibilities for capturing light, movement, and mood in your painting.
The day begins with a live demonstration focusing on painting expansive skies, flowing water, and the natural rhythm of the landscape. We'll explore composition tips, watercolor layering techniques, and how to create depth with light and shadow.
After the demo, you'll have time to paint your own interpretation of the view with one-on-one guidance throughout the day. Whether you're a seasoned artist or an adventurous intermediate looking to grow, this workshop will leave you refreshed, inspired, and more confident in your plein air practice.
I'll have lots of materials for you to try out (paints, paper and brushes), and will have a gazebo set up to protect us from the changing weather. Don't forget to bring your own materials, chair, water and a water cup (full Supplies List is here). My favourite materials are here in this blog post or shop on Amazon
