Spend the day painting in one of Maple Ridge’s most stunning open fields, with an unobstructed, awe-inspiring view of Golden Ears rising in the distance. This peaceful and private location offers a perfect mix of sky, light, and mountains—a dream setting for plein air watercolour.

We'll begin with a live demonstration focused on capturing the majesty of mountain ranges, playing with soft and dramatic skies, and using watercolor techniques to suggest depth, distance, and atmospheric light. You'll learn how to compose a strong scene, balance color and tone, and bring out the beauty of Golden Ears in your work.

Then, enjoy a relaxing painting session of your own, with individual guidance and tips provided throughout the day. Whether you’re building plein air confidence or simply craving a creative escape outdoors, this workshop offers a peaceful and inspiring space to connect with your art and the landscape.

I'll have lots of materials for you to try out (paints, paper and brushes), and will have a gazebo set up to protect us from the changing weather. Don't forget to bring your own materials, chair, water and a water cup (full Supplies List is here). My favourite materials are here in this blog post or shop on Amazon
