Join me for a peaceful half-day watercolor workshop at Lafarge Lake in the heart of Coquitlam, where still waters, winding pathways, and the surrounding trees offer a perfect mix of reflection, light, and natural beauty. This urban oasis is a wonderful spot to slow down and connect with your creative flow.
The day begins with a live demonstration focusing on painting water reflections, soft edges, and how to use layered washes to capture stillness and atmosphere. We’ll explore composition techniques and ways to simplify complex scenes without losing their charm.
After the demos, you'll have plenty of time to paint your own interpretation of the lake’s calm beauty, with personalized guidance and support throughout the day. Whether you're looking to sharpen your plein air skills or just enjoy a creative day outdoors, this workshop offers inspiration at every turn.
I'll have lots of materials for you to try out (paints, paper and brushes), and will have a gazebo set up to protect us from the changing weather. Don't forget to bring your own materials, chair, water and a water cup (full Supplies List is here). My favourite materials are here in this blog post or shop on Amazon
