Escape to the shore for a day of painting at beautiful Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, where ocean views, sailboats, distant mountains, and vibrant coastal foliage come together in one stunning scene. This picturesque waterfront setting is the perfect place to deepen your watercolor practice and connect with nature.
The workshop begins with a live demonstration covering how to capture water movement, reflections, boats, trees, and coastal light using layered washes and expressive brushwork. You'll learn how to simplify a busy scene into a strong composition and bring atmosphere and depth into your painting.
After the demo, you’ll have plenty of time to create your own piece with guidance and personalized feedback throughout the day. Whether you're refining your plein air technique or simply soaking in coastal inspiration, this workshop promises a creative and refreshing day by the water.
I'll have lots of materials for you to try out (paints, paper and brushes), and will have a gazebo set up to protect us from the changing weather. Don't forget to bring your own materials, chair, water and a water cup (full Supplies List is here). My favourite materials are here in this blog post or shop on Amazon
