Plein Air Summer Drop-In Classes in various locations in Maple Ridge

It's nice and sunny outside which means it's the perfect time to do some plein air sketches and studies! The French term 'plein air' means out of doors and refers to the practice of painting entire finished pictures out of doors. So what are we waiting for? Let's get outside and create!
These Plein Air summer group classes are drop-ins ($25/person), so you can join any time! They'll be held at various locations around Maple Ridge on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:30 pm, and we are starting on June 7th

During our 2-hour classes, you will have the opportunity to learn and explore the captivating world of watercolour painting in nature. We will cover fundamental techniques such as brush control, color mixing, and creating various washes to bring the natural surroundings to life on paper. Through my demonstration and your own hands-on practice, you will discover how to capture the essence of landscapes, flowers, or other elements of nature, emphasizing light, texture, and atmospheric effects. Additionally, I will guide you on composition and simplifying complex scenes, enabling you to create balanced and visually appealing paintings. These classes provide a nurturing environment for beginners and more advanced students to develop skills, gain confidence, and experience the joy of creating art while immersing yourself in the beauty of the natural world.
