"Gavia" is original watercolour painting of a loon with lake and forest landscape inside, combined in a unique double exposure style, on 11"x15" cold-press watercolour paper.
I painted this piece during my live paint-in session at Giving Gifts shop in Vancouver. As it happens a lot with me and my artworks, it was suggested by one of my customers from Ontario. I was so glad to use my favourite summer colours to showcase Ontario Lake in its full beauty. The Loon is a solitary bird of the wilderness that symbolizes tranquility, serenity and the reawakening of old hopes, wishes and dreams. She relies on water and water is a symbol for dreams and multiple levels of consciousness, thus Loons teach us to follow our hopes, dreams and wishes.
In “Enchanted Animals” collection Elena focuses on spirits and inner world of each animal. We are similar to all living creatures with our own background and stories. Have you ever thought about what bears must see when they walk the forest under a beautiful night sky? Or what foxes smell lying dozing near the roots of majestic tree?
